A two-vehicle collision Dec. 30 on U.S. 27 sent a Nicholasville man to the hospital with minor injuries.
According to the Nicholasville Police report, Stephen Johnson, 50, was headed north on U.S. 27 in front of Connemara Golf Course in his 2005 Kia Rio when he was cut off by an unknown black SUV. He swerved into southbound traffic and hit a 1994 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Victor Garcia Lopez, 16, also of Nicholasville.
Johnson’s Kia was sent airborne and came to rest on the west side of the road. He was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph Jessamine RJ Corman Ambulatory Care Center. Garcia Lopez and his passenger, Saul Sanchez, were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Alcohol was not thought to be a factor in the wreck.
