A woman was taken to the hospital after driving her car into a ditch on Main Street Monday afternoon.
According to officials on the scene, the driver of a burgundy Pontiac Grand Am veered off the road heading southbound on North Main Street in Nicholasville around 1:10 p.m. and drove into a ditch just north of O’Reilly Auto Parts.
She was knocked unconscious and pinned in the vehicle until crews got her out of the car. She regained consciousness and was taken by ambulance to RJ Corman St. Joseph-Jessamine Ambulatory Care Center, according to Nicholasville Police Officer Todd White. The extent of her injuries were undisclosed.
A Jessamine County Sheriff's deputy was driving behind the woman at the time of the crash and said she veered off the road for an unknown reason.
Traffic was moving slowly on Main Street as of 1:30 p.m.
