More than 450 people turned out for the Community Health Fair held at Saint Joseph-Jessamine RJ Corman Ambulatory Care Center last Saturday.
“This was our second year for the fair, and we were very pleased with the response from the community, with a crowd of more than 450,” Saint Joseph Jessamine Administrator Chris Bowe said.
The event featured various speakers talking about health-related topics, inflatable rides for the children, vendors, health screenings, and hot dogs, snow cones and drinks provided by the Jessamine County Emergency Services.
While much fun was had, Bowe said the main goal of the event was to pay tribute to Saint Joseph-Jessamine’s partners.
“This is another way for Saint Joseph to extend our service to the community past the walls of the building,” he said. “We have so many wonderful partners that work with us on a daily basis, and this fair provided the opportunity for us to publicly thank those partners. Ultimately, we are all here to improve the health of everyone in Jessamine County and surrounding communities. We hope this fair will continue to grow in size and scope, and we are already planning for next year.”
Several Jessamine County agencies participated in the event, including Jessamine County E-911, the Nicholasville Fire Department and EMS.
Vendors included the American Red Cross, Chiro One Wellness Center, Comfort Keepers, Commonwealth Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, Council Oaks Assisted Living Home, Discover Family Chiropractic, Dowlen Family Dentistry, Jeffries Chiropractic, Jessamine Christian Church, Jessamine Health Department, KODA, Lexington Women's Health, Lifeline Home Health Care, Nicholasville Dialysis Clinic, Saint Joseph Diabetes and Nutrition Center, Saint Joseph Heart Institute, Saint Joseph Outpatient Rehabilitation, Saint Joseph Sleep Wellness Center, Sam's Club and the Urgent Treatment Center.
